Developed from lived experience
Rising Minds was founded in Vancouver, British Columbia, to provide Canadian online counselling and psychotherapy grounded in warmth, compassion, safety, nervous-system awareness, and evidence-based care.
Years of personal adversity deepened Erica's understanding of suffering and strengthened her conviction in the extraordinary capacity people have to endure, adapt, and rebuild — the seed from which Rising Minds grew.
Resilience is not hardness. It is not the absence of pain, nor the denial of vulnerability. It is the quiet, courageous decision to rise — again and again.
Collaborative, at a pace that feels safe
Erica works with youth, adults, couples and families across British Columbia and Ontario. She draws on a variety of evidence-based approaches such as:
Compassionate Inquiry®
Rooted in Dr. Gabor Maté’s work — exploring the roots of suffering with radical self-compassion.
Trauma-informed care
Care that recognises the impact of trauma and prioritises emotional safety, trust, and empowerment.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Connecting with your inner strengths while healing the parts of you that carry pain or protective patterns.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Building psychological flexibility and values-aligned living.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Reshaping the thought patterns and beliefs that keep you stuck.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and steadier relationships.
Gottman Method (couples)
Evidence-based couples therapy for connection, trust, and repair.
Narrative Therapy
Reauthoring your story to reclaim agency and identity.
Mind–body & nervous-system regulation
Somatic, nervous-system-aware practices that help the body feel safe, not just the mind.
Specialised training for first responders
Practical tools to build resilience, manage stress, and support long-term mental well-being.
